Wakey Wakey Rise & Shine are Smudger Lewis, Seamus Daley-Dee, Harri Elliott and Duncan Whitelock. They all met in Bristol via university, festivals and Gumtree ads. Influenced by the likes of King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Snapped Ankles, and new wave trailblazers DEVO and The B-52s, Wakey Wakey Rise & Shine have released numerous singles and two EP’s since 2020. Their latest EP ‘Rear Meat’ was released via Velvet Echoes Records in May 2025 and was supported by two self-funded UK tours in that year. 

 

Wakey Wakey Rise & Shine are now gearing up for the release of their debut album, also being released via Velvet Echoes Records, which will explore themes such as anti-capitalism, burnout and the daily grind but with a dose of Wakey Wakey Rise & Shine irony.
